Knowing the History of the company you’re rebranding is just as important as the design process. Just a little research can give you lots of ideas for the design process.
Audience Personas
An important aspect to consider when doing a rebrand is your audience. You have to know who you’re selling to and who’s buying your product. After researching the audience of America’s Thrift Stores, I created my own personas using AI.
Jaime is a recent College graduate. She has an upcoming interview for her dream job, the Birmingham Zoo! If all goes well, she hopes to join their marketing team.
Jaime needs an interview outfit. Unfortunately, because Jaime just graduated from college, she doesn’t have a huge budget. So, she heads to her local America’s Thrift Store to find a stylish outfit that is sure to land her the job!
The Collins family faced a lot of hardship this year. Sarah had to quit her job to stay home with the twins, which meant James had to pick up extra shifts to make up for the lost income. So, when Christmas rolled around, instead of buying new toys and clothes that the kids were just going to forget about and grow out of anyway, Sarah and James went to their local America’s Thrift Store and brought all their kids gifts.
It’s always a good idea to research the competitors of your company. That way, you know what you’re competing with and can work on what your company can do better.

When you first start the design process, you might find yourself overwhelmed with the number of ideas swirling around in your head. Putting pen to paper and sketching out your ideas is a great way to narrow down your choices.
